What is the most important information I should know about Zunveyl (Oral)?

You should not use benzgalantamine if you are allergic to it.

Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:

  • a heart condition such as "AV block", slow heartbeats;
  • stomach ulcers or bleeding;
  • if you are taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen;
  • a history of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); or
  • liver or kidney disease.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Side Effects

What are the side effects of Zunveyl (Oral)?

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction (hives, difficult breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling).

Call your doctor at once if you have:

  • weak pulse, slow or uneven heart rate, dizziness, a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out;
  • little or no urination;
  • seizures; or
  • stomach bleeding--bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds.

Common side effects may include:

  • nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea;
  • dizziness;
  • headache; or
  • loss of appetite.

Dosage Guidelines & Tips

How to take Zunveyl (Oral)?

Use Zunveyl (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.

Benzgalantamine is usually taken twice per day, you may take this medicine with or without food.

Swallow the tablet whole and do not crush, chew, or break it.

Drink plenty of liquids while you are taking benzgalantamine.

If you stop using this medicine for longer than 3 days, do not start it again without your doctor's advice.

Tell your doctor if you have a planned surgery.

You may need medical tests, chest X rays or breathing tests while you are using this medicine.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time.
