What is the most important information I should know about Skelaxin (Oral)?

You should not use metaxalone if you are allergic to it, or if you have:

Side Effects

What are the side effects of Skelaxin (Oral)?

Get emergency medical help if you have : hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. signs of an allergic reaction

Seek medical attention right away if you have symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as: agitation, hallucinations, fever, sweating, shivering, fast heart rate, muscle stiffness, twitching, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Stop using metaxalone and call your doctor at once if you have:

Drowsiness or dizziness may last longer in older adults. Use caution to avoid falling or accidental injury.

Metaxalone can slow or stop your breathing, especially if you have recently used an opioid medication or certain anxiety or mood disorder medications. A person caring for you should seek emergency medical attention if you have slow breathing with long pauses, blue colored lips, or if you are hard to wake up.

  • feeling like you might pass out;

  • pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine, fever, confusion or weakness; or
  • jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

  • feeling nervous or irritable.

How to take Skelaxin (Oral)?
