Petrolatum and zinc oxide topical helps seal out wetness and is used in preventing or treating diaper rash or other types of minor skin irritation.
Petrolatum and zinc oxide topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

You should not use petrolatum and zinc oxide if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients, or if you have:
- deep or puncture wounds;
- animal bites; or
- serious burns.
Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not apply this medicine to a child without medical advice.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using petrolatum and zinc oxide and call your doctor at once if your skin condition worsens.
Less serious side effects may be more likely, or you may have none at all.

Dosage Guidelines & Tips
How to take Remedy Protect (Topical)?
Use Remedy Protect (Topical) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.
Petrolatum and zinc oxide is used as needed. Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine unless you are using it to treat a hand condition. Use a mild soap to clean the skin area to be treated.
To treat diaper rash, apply petrolatum and zinc oxide topical as needed with each diaper change, especially at bedtime. Change wet and soiled diapers as soon as possible. Keep the diaper area clean and dry.
Call your doctor if your symptoms worsen, do not improve after using this medicine for 7 days, or if your condition improves and comes back.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not allow the medicine to freeze.
Petrolatum and zinc oxide is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose. Do not apply two doses at one time.
