What is the most important information I should know about Desoxyn (Oral)?
You should not use methamphetamine if you are allergic to stimulant medicines, or if you have:

Taking methamphetamine during pregnancy can cause premature birth, low birth weight, or withdrawal symptoms in the newborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
Do not breastfeed.
- moderate to severe high blood pressure;
- heart disease or coronary artery disease (hardened arteries);
- overactive thyroid;
- glaucoma;
- severe anxiety, tension, or agitation (stimulant medicine can make these symptoms worse); or
- a history of drug or alcohol addiction.
- heart problems or a congenital heart defect;
- high blood pressure; or
- a family history of heart disease or sudden death.
- depression, mental illness, bipolar disorder, psychosis, or suicidal thoughts or actions;
- motor tics (muscle twitches) or Tourette's syndrome;
- seizures or epilepsy;
- an abnormal brain wave test (EEG);
- a thyroid disorder;
- diabetes;
- blood circulation problems in the hands or feet; or
- kidney disease.
Do not use methamphetamine if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days.Wait at least 14 days after stopping an MAO inhibitor before you take methamphetamine. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine.

What are the side effects of Desoxyn (Oral)?
Get emergency medical help if you have : hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. signs of an allergic reaction
Call your doctor at once if you have:
Seek medical attention right away if you have symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as: agitation, hallucinations, fever, sweating, shivering, fast heart rate, muscle stiffness, twitching, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Methamphetamine can affect growth in children. Tell your doctor if your child is not growing at a normal rate while using this medicine.
Tell your doctor right away if you have new or sudden changes in mood or behavior, including new or worse depression or anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, more active or talkative, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.

- changes in your vision.

Dosage Guidelines & Tips
How to take Desoxyn (Oral)?
Use Desoxyn (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Avoid taking methamphetamine late in the evening.
Do start any new medicine while taking methamphetamine without your doctor's advice. not
While using this medicine, your doctor will need to check your progress on a regular basis. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using this medicine.
You may need frequent medical tests before and while using this medicine. Your treatment with methamphetamine may be discontinued.
Methamphetamine may be habit-forming. Keep the medication where others cannot get to it. Selling or giving away this medicine is against the law. Misuse can cause addiction, overdose, or death.
Do not keep leftover medicine. Ask your pharmacist about a drug take-back program, or flush the unused medicine down the toilet. Just one dose can cause death in someone using it accidentally or improperly.
Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.

What happens if I overdose on Desoxyn (Oral)?
Overdose symptoms may include restlessness, tremor, muscle twitches, rapid breathing, hostility, violence, panic, muscle pain or weakness, and dark colored urine. These symptoms may be followed by depression and tiredness. Overdose may also cause seizure or coma.
